Ithaca SDA Church

Our Pathfinders embarked on an unforgettable journey across the country to the 2024 International Pathfinder Camporee in Gillette, Wyoming. The expedition commenced on July 28th from Ithaca, New York, as we set our sights westward, with our first stop being the famous city of Chicago. We were graciously hosted by the West Central SDA Church, where we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the spirit of the Windy City for 2 nights. Our Pathfinders eagerly explored the Lincoln Park Zoo, traversed the city on the L, and savored the renowned Chicago-style pizza. Continuing our voyage, we enjoyed South Dakota and into the breathtaking landscapes of Wyoming. Hours were spent reveling in the wonders of nature, eagerly on the lookout for bison, bears, and elks. Upon our arrival at Gillette, we were delighted to be joined by our incredible international guests, whose presence infused our group with even more vibrancy and warmth.

During our expedition, we encountered a series of intense storms that tested our Pathfinder spirit. Unfortunately, some of our tents and campsite were destroyed twice. However, the unity and resilience of our Pathfinder club shone through as we rallied, organized, and supported each other, leaving an indelible impression on our collective journey.

Despite the challenges and unforeseen obstacles, the memories created during this camporee are bound to be cherished for generations to come. We are steadfastly committed to upholding the camporee's themes of "Believe the Promise" and "Stand Strong" as we eagerly anticipate the next gathering in 2029.
